Back on the box

Lucy commentating in ChinaIt is definitely exciting in the leadup to the Final but it is bitter-sweet for me I’m afraid. It’s fantastic for the club but I can’t help but feel really disappointed that I won’t be a part of it on the pitch. I don’t know how many more seasons I will play and it will be very difficult to get to other Finals in the future - we had done well to get to 3 in 3 seasons!

I would’ve liked to put to rest the last FA Cup Final I played in where I scored an own goal - which I have to say was the most horrendous experience I have ever had on a football pitch - but that isn’t meant to be so I will content myself with another appearance in the commentary box for the BBC. It will be a great day I’m sure and Leeds United are definitely more prepared for the Final than last time so we will see how it pans out - put it this way Arsenal will have to fight a hell of a lot harder to win than they did 2 years ago!

I’m sure I will be more nervous commentating than if I was playing - a bit like I was in China during the England games - all of the squad are my friends and I would give anything for them to win the Cup. However I will try my hardest to be as professionally impartial as possible but I can’t say I won’t be silently cheering my mates on throughout the whole of the 90 minutes….!
