It has been a quiet week regarding my football; we didn’t have a midweek game and our match against Watford was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch so we all had a free weekend.
This was a nice idea seeing as it was the Merseyside derby and being a massive Evertonian it was a great opportunity to watch to watch them play. I wish I hadn’t now with the first 5 minutes Fernando Torres (whom I wish I didn’t like but I think he is a fantastic player) put Liverpool ahead and they didn’t look back. It was a really poor performance and quite a boring game so next time I am not going to watch maybe I am a bad omen! Talking of boring games the England game midweek wasn’t much better. I switched over to watch the soaps in the end far more entertaining now that’s a true football player!! My work this week has been rather wet but enjoyable, I was at a girls Centre of Excellence talking and demonstrating how fitness is really important in football. They have a lot of technically gifted players but when it comes to going away with England they just cant cope with the other girls due to a lack of fitness so I was trying to stress that if you want to make it to the top you have to be very dedicated and go out training everyday on your own and eat the right foods etc. Then I demonstrated throughout the day a variety of training methods that I use. Hopefully it got through to a few of the girls. However during the question and answer session the majority of the questions were to do with money and how big my house is and what car do I have? The girls were very disappointed when I told them I just had a normal size house. Hopefully I didn’t put them off playing football. At the end of the day we had a tournament and myself and the other coaches were a manager of each team. I don’t think I will be the next Alex Ferguson my team came last and didn’t win a game. One of the girls said, “my dad is a better manager than you”, she was probably right. I don’t know if you agree but it seems to me that lots of people have Birthdays in April, it must be those summer months! Anyway I went to the Trafford Centre on Sat to get some presents for all the Birthdays only to have another embarrassing moment in Selfridges. I walked past a long row of suitcases and managed to knock the first one causing a row of skittles and every single one fell down. You can imagine how many people turned round as I was trying to catch all these cases. If that wasn’t enough, all the staff ran over to see if I was ok. After picking most up I walked off rather quickly with the reddest face ever. I hope everyone appreciates their presents. One of the Birthdays was my little niece Ella who is 1 today (Happy birthday) I can’t believe it has been a year already. We are all going to her Birthday party I am sure it will have an “In The Night Garden” theme. I know all the characters now and I am sure that most mums and dads agree this programme is a God send it’s the only thing that keeps them quiet for ten minutes. Anyway your Auntie woo woo has got you some ace presents!! |
