If you've been watching the Women's World Cup, you'll know that our very own Lucy Ward is co-commentating on all the games. Here's her view of the tournament so far.

Lucy Ward, behind the mic"My first game as a co-commentator in a World Cup sort of crept up on me in a rather quick and evil way. Yes I'd been looking forward, thinking it would be quite nerve-wracking but thought yeah, I can cope, I love talking, etc.

Then as the opening ceremony started the enormity of what I was about to do hit me like a ton of bricks… a World Cup on the BBC, probably one of the most famous broadcasting companies in the whole world and the best in England at producing football programmes… aaaarggghh! Then when I heard Guy Mowbray set off on his match ramble and it reminded me of watching MOTD for as long as I can remember - I had a slightly large panic attack! For years I have watched football on the TV and now I was going to be the one doing the talking. My first few contributions were horrendous then I settled into it and loving the sound of my own voice, I was in heaven!!

It is difficult thinking about what to say and scanning the sheets in front of for the names of the different players when I didn’t really know much about them apart from what I had researched. I had got some really good stuff from the England camp, which Guy was very happy with. After the game I did an interview on the side of the pitch with Jake Humphrey about the game and looking forward to the first England game. That was fun and is going to be something I will be doing throughout the tournament which means I have to do my hair right!! Got a few texts from home saying how well they thought I'd done which is nice for me because it is really difficult gauging how it looks back there.

After the game we went back into the office and everyone was working hard to make sure that the footage got back to England for them to work on it for the highlights programme. These people work hard and don’t eat properly it’s crazy!! I'm starving most of the time out here!!

Its funny because I am spending a lot of time with the same people from producers, cameramen, soundmen to presenters and we are having a real laugh. The best parts of the trip so far are of course the England games particularly the Germany game when I was in bits by the end it was so nerve-wracking and I had to talk about it at the same time..!

China is a really interesting place very full and very smoggy, I reckon when I get home I won't eat that much Chinese food for a while. They have lots of different stuff from ox tongue to chicken feet which for me is enough to make me vegetarian… horrible! I am enjoying every second apart from the internal flights in China – yes it’s the food again!

This week we are covering the England game plus another quarter-final, both semis and the final which will be hard work but fantastic - I can't wait. It has been nice to spend a bit of time around the England girls they are absolutely buzzing and cannot believe how far they have got.

Tune in on Saturday, it's on BBC One and will be a cracking game. Come on England!"
