FA Women's Cup sponsored by E.On
Sunday 6th January 2008

Bristol Academy 1-1 Leeds United Ladies
(1-1 AET: Leeds win on 3-4 on penalties, sudden death)

Leeds progressed through to the fifth round of the FA Women's Cup after beating league leaders Bristol Academy at Bristol.

Leeds started the game well and seemed to have rekindled their cup form of recent years, going ahead in the second half from sub Amanda Barr and had looked to have done enough to win with a single goal before Bristol scored an equaliser in injury time forcing the tie into extra time. Leeds had had opportunities to go ahead including hitting the post late in added time.

The game had to be settled by penalties and after the five penalties each the teams were still level thanks to supurb goalkeeping by Carly Telford who saved three penalties, Leeds eventually won the game when Katie Holtham scored a decisive sudden death penalty to ensure Leeds go into the fifth round draw, where they will face Chelease away on Sunday 27 January.
