Leeds United Ladies is saying goodbye to two players as they head across the Atlantic.

Sophie HargreavesSophie Hargreaves joined Leeds United ladies as an U12 and will be leaving to take up a scholarship at Division One, Murray State University, Kentucky, USA. Soph has played in the reserves for the past couple of seasons, she has an excellent attitude and is a very loyal, committed member of the club.

“Soph is a player, who since I have been at the club always gives 100% in all games and is very proud to play for Leeds United," said reserves team coach Gemma Grainger. "Her composure on the ball and technical ability are great strengths as she continues to develop.

"I want to wish Soph all the best in America and I’m sure she will continue to be successful and bring a lot of great attributes to her new team. We will all  miss Soph, especially her singing in the changing rooms before and after most games - well pretty much every game!”

Emma Johnson is also leaving the club to take up a scholarship at Arkansas University, Arkansas,  USA.  Emma joined the club from Bradford City in 2007, and has been a valuable member of the development squad.

"Emma as been a brilliant player to work with this season, she possesses great commitment and determination to develop as a player," said development team coach Gary Waddington. "I have no doubt that Emma will impress at her new club as she deserves much credit for her superb performances for us this season. I wish Emma all the success and good luck in her future."

Congratulations and good luck to you both from everyone at Leeds United Ladies.
