Preston: Alison Taberner 12 Leeds had many new faces in the team, including New signing Katie Holtham making her first appearance of the season. Leeds were in front after 8 minutes when Sue Smith calmly stroked the ball around Preston's keeper, but Preston levelled the score 4 minutes later when a defensive error left Leeds keeper Steph Baraclough exposed. An Amanda Barr goal and a second from Sue Smith made it 3-1 at half time. Leeds continued the pressure after the break and played some lovely passing football, with the new-look midfield impressed all watching. But who was that mystery player playing an outstanding game in the number 7 shirt? All will be revealed on Monday 30 July... A further goal from Amanda Barr, a brace from Lucy Ward and one from Ollie Thackray finished the scoring. Youngsters Gemma Bonner and Hayley Sharp made impressive debuts for Leeds after progressing through from the U16s and development teams respectfully. |
