The aim of the Leeds Girls’ Centre of Excellence is to identify and recruit the most talented local girls to enhance player development incorporating the principles of Long Term Player Development , This provides individuals with both technical, phychological and social knowledge to achieve their full potential. The programme means that’s our centre works closely with the international teams to make sure any potential player has the opportunity to be scouted.

The girls play in the FA Girls Centre of Excellence Northern regional fixture programme at U10s, U12s, U14s, U16s and play against other professional teams like Newcastle United, Sheffield United and Sunderland. This season will also see the girls play Crewe, Coventry, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn on open weekends.

Leeds Centre of Excellence also runs a U8s Development squad where players train once a week, this enables young players to enjoy fun sessions within a Centre Of Excellence environment before progressing to trials at U10s. Our Female Football Development Centre in partnership with Boston Spa College also offers pathway to 16-19 years. The Programme gives players the opportunity to combine football training and academic studies on a day to day basis at the college before attending university.
