The League Awaits

6 July 2010

Leeds start the 2010-11 league campaign with a trip to Millwall on Sunday 22 August, as the truncated season gets underway.

There are only eight sides in the National Division next season (or is it *this* season now?) meaning that the programme is scheduled to end four weeks before the teams enter the FA Women’s Cup at the third round stage in February. Weather-permitting, of course.

Leeds will also defend their Premier League Cup title as the competition is re-formed for the new season. The 28 teams in the National, Northern and Southern divisions will be divided into seven regional groups of four, to produce 16 teams going forward to a knock-out stage.
